Abstract

The Zola "manuscript" is a heavily edited transcription of Emile Zola's ditation for an article in the "Nation" of October 9, 1902, about how he wrote his famous essay "War."  It is held in the Theodore Stanton Collection in Special Collections.  The original "War" article was published in the April, 1900 number of the "North American Review."
